This Friday I am excited to be playing with one of New Yorks finest, The Knocks! With a solid arsenal of original work, remixes and collabs the Knocks have been making a serious name for themselves in dance music. They have produced original material and remixes for Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Marina & the Diamonds, and now their own music. With heavy rotation on Australia’s Triple J, their single “Make It Better” was released on Neon Gold Records and their hit “Dancing With the DJ” was #1 on both the Hype Machine and Japan’s iTunes. The Knocks have been taking their energetic live dance party all over the world, including their sold out NYC Bowery Ballroom debut, Tammany Hall headlining show and their European tour with Sleigh Bells and M.I.A. They’ve shared the stage with acts like Big Boi, Chromeo, and just finished a U.S. tour with Ellie Goulding.
With a resume like that you know it is going to get turnt up on Audio’s system. Support by local favorite Split and myself…this party is going to go hard.
Im really digging this collab with Ra Ra Riots’, Wes Miles.
For some more four to the floor dance vibes this track they did with Treasure Fingers is straight fire too.
Free before 11 w/RSVP or $10 advance tickets at www.audiosf.com
See you on the dancefloor!
How about some more music? A real mix of styles that I am feeling here. I should probably be writing a bit more but cant be asked. All I will say is these tracks all come with strong strong vibes.
This track by NY bred, LA based Made in Heights has that laid back vibe then hits hard. If you are feeling laid back vibez with female vocal, give their other stuff a listen too.
Ok so this track feels like it pulled some inspiration from Do you think I’m sexy by Rod Stewart. Yes? No? Either way I am feelin’ it.
Boyband of the hour Andhim have been killin it nonstop for the last 12 months. Touring and releasing track after hot track, these dudes are making some serious noise. Hausch is my jam off their The Wizard of Us EP. Additional required listening is their remix of Kolsch’s summer sizzler “All that matters” .
Last but not least is one of my favorite tracks off Typhoon’s White Lighter album. Its been a while since I have been so moved by distortion.
nothin’ fancy just some tunes I am cruising to these days
This Friday night I am very excited to be playing Vessel with none other than Autoerotique. It has been at least 2 years since Auto played Vessel and it was a banger of a night. Dude is truly one of the most talented DJ’s in his genre. I have always been really blown away by his sets, and mixing skills. Be down

Came across some pretty cool 3D projection mapping with the use of moving objects. 3D mapping is nothing new, and I have seen some really engaging and vivid examples at festivals in the past, but this is the first time I have seen this used on moving objects. I recommend opening this up to full screen.

So I’m not one to get wrapped up much with female pop stars, but Sky Ferraria has been holding a special place in my heart ever since I saw her live at the Rickshaw Stop. I had BEEN down for her jams, including her runaway indie hit Everything’s Embarrasing, but I feel like we made serious eye contact at one point during her show and from there on out…the music just.felt.alive. As if we were meant to be. In that place, at that time, together…
Anyways here are some b side tracks release by her label. I can see why these didnt make it on the album. They aren’t as raw as the tracks that made the cut. You be the judge…you can buy them HERE
Grab her latest full length album Night Time, My Time HERE
Easily two of my favorite duos under one roof along with a solid roster of supporting acts. I rocked the decks with Oliver at vessel a few months back and it was one of the best nights of the summer. Their sound is so unique and heavy, its just a few notches slowed which drives the crowd, and all the while they are really talented DJ’s holding it down behind the decks. Classixx always comes strong with that feel good dance with your crew and not give a fuck type of music. With recent remixes for groundbreaking artists such as Phoenix, The Ting Tings, Shiny Toy Guns, and the Sounds, their funky midtempo sound is turning heads everywhere. GET INTO IT
Grab a presale while they are hot cuz they are moving fast
Its been a while since I have thrown up some tunes on here, but this November downpour has got me yearning for some great music. With that in mind I picked some tracks that remind me of soaking up the last rays of summer, cruising with the windows down, and getting coffee on a sunny sunday.
Heavy heavy rotation from this remix by Tourist of Los Angeles babe band Haim. Tourist gives an already catchy original a airy twist that results in a much more haunting tune than the original. You be the judge.
I have been starting my mornings off with this heater from the hometown hero Tycho. I have always had a lot of respect for Tycho not only for his music but his well rounded artistic curation and design. I have never had a chance to meet the guy but I am sure he is a seriously interesting dude. Give a couple listens cuz this track is nothing less than mesmerizing.
Up next is a jam from Kulkid…this track is pretty much my jam right now. I dig the entire track progression and the vocal, but the drop around the 2 minute mark is what really caught my attention. Reminds me of some Catz and Dogz type stuff.
Baio of Vampire weekend notoriety recently released a 4 track EP on Future Classic. The title track Mira is a clear favorite for me. Really great soundz.
Another one off Future Classic is Jagwar Ma’s “let her go” this electronic spin on the original from their latest Howlin album is short but sweet. Maybe a little too short but nonetheless sweet. I am really into “come save me” Get into them both.
Halloween in San Francisco is a special thing. In a city where people love to get dressed up in costume for almost any occasion…THEE occasion to get dressed up turns the city into a veritable mad house. This year I am playing a really solid event at The Factory (525 Harrison). The venue itself is really awesome and has been around for a LONG time but since its massive it doesn’t get used all the time. That means multiple rooms, multiple bars, and tons of party people. Check out the promo video featuring this years headliner the legendary Tommie Sunshine.
