So I’m not one to get wrapped up much with female pop stars, but Sky Ferraria has been holding a special place in my heart ever since I saw her live at the Rickshaw Stop. I had BEEN down for her jams, including her runaway indie hit Everything’s Embarrasing, but I feel like we made serious eye contact at one point during her show and from there on out…the music just.felt.alive. As if we were meant to be. In that place, at that time, together…
Anyways here are some b side tracks release by her label. I can see why these didnt make it on the album. They aren’t as raw as the tracks that made the cut. You be the judge…you can buy them HERE

Easily two of my favorite duos under one roof along with a solid roster of supporting acts. I rocked the decks with Oliver at vessel a few months back and it was one of the best nights of the summer. Their sound is so unique and heavy, its just a few notches slowed which drives the crowd, and all the while they are really talented DJ’s holding it down behind the decks. Classixx always comes strong with that feel good dance with your crew and not give a fuck type of music. With recent remixes for groundbreaking artists such as Phoenix, The Ting Tings, Shiny Toy Guns, and the Sounds, their funky midtempo sound is turning heads everywhere. GET INTO IT

Its been a while since I have thrown up some tunes on here, but this November downpour has got me yearning for some great music. With that in mind I picked some tracks that remind me of soaking up the last rays of summer, cruising with the windows down, and getting coffee on a sunny sunday.
Heavy heavy rotation from this remix by Tourist of Los Angeles babe band Haim. Tourist gives an already catchy original a airy twist that results in a much more haunting tune than the original. You be the judge.
I have been starting my mornings off with this heater from the hometown hero Tycho. I have always had a lot of respect for Tycho not only for his music but his well rounded artistic curation and design. I have never had a chance to meet the guy but I am sure he is a seriously interesting dude. Give a couple listens cuz this track is nothing less than mesmerizing.
Up next is a jam from Kulkid…this track is pretty much my jam right now. I dig the entire track progression and the vocal, but the drop around the 2 minute mark is what really caught my attention. Reminds me of some Catz and Dogz type stuff.
Baio of Vampire weekend notoriety recently released a 4 track EP on Future Classic. The title track Mira is a clear favorite for me. Really great soundz.
Another one off Future Classic is Jagwar Ma’s “let her go” this electronic spin on the original from their latest Howlin album is short but sweet. Maybe a little too short but nonetheless sweet. I am really into “come save me” Get into them both.
Halloween in San Francisco is a special thing. In a city where people love to get dressed up in costume for almost any occasion…THEE occasion to get dressed up turns the city into a veritable mad house. This year I am playing a really solid event at The Factory (525 Harrison). The venue itself is really awesome and has been around for a LONG time but since its massive it doesn’t get used all the time. That means multiple rooms, multiple bars, and tons of party people. Check out the promo video featuring this years headliner the legendary Tommie Sunshine.

Maxxi Soundsystem aka Sam Watts will be rocking the decks this Thursday for this another installment of Base Italy Underground at Vessel. This U.K. phenomenon first began his career with the club banger ‘Criticize’, which was immediately blown up after being supported on Annie Mac’s Radio 1. His first was released on Nurvous Records based in NYC, followed by another magnificent piece of work called ‘Open Your Eyes’, on Jamie Jones’ Hot Waves. Sam is a well-established club DJ with more than enough to offer to the House/Deep House world. His appearances throughout the globe have brought enormous amounts of attraction and support. Sam’s most recent show will be on the 29th for the Decibel Festival’s Rebel House Finale in Seattle, alongside Art Department and Mano Le Tough. We are more than excited to see Sam take the decks to bring havoc upon Base Italy Underground this week. I hope to see you all there and bring you A-game because this one is going to be special.
I used to post my random thoughts and links on here and I have somewhat let that fall to the wayside and have only posted events and music. Im not sure which is better, but felt like I would post a couple interesting inventions I have come across this year.
I know we are all guilty of this, but does it mess up your phone? Would be fun to try it out one night.
One of my dreams is to build a house. Not just own one, but like build it from the ground up with my hands and some tools, and a bunch of guys who know what they are doing. When I do I am going to install one of these way at the top.
This ridiculous creation by Strand Craft has always caught my eye as the ultimate baller status symbol. It looks dope and is oh so convenient.
Not much needs to be said about the incredble duo that is Oliver. They have pumped out some of the hottest club and underground jams of the last few years. Literally my favortie tracks to play have been by these guys. Needless to say Im really excited to be sharing the stage with them.
