I want to throw up a couple tracks that are really doin’ it for me right now, and maybe a few from back in the day. Get on my hype.
The Lorde EP dropped a few months back and I per usual gave it a quick once over, found it to be really catchy, then sort of forgot about it. Royals popped up on the radio here today which was a nice surprise.
With all the Daft Punk hype floating around I generally tried to keep my mouth shut. However…the shining gem in all the smoke and mirrors is this “Get Lucky” cover by none other than indie darlings Daughter. I dare you to stop listening.
One of my long time favorite bands to see live is London based “the Veils.” This is hot off their new full length album “Time Stays, We Go” Although this alnbum is great, I highly recommend their entire discography. This track is called Another night on earth and was featured on the Frankenweenie soundtrack. This version is actually slightly different than the album version.
Takin it back to the mashup days. Dave Wrangler always had the raddest indie flavor to his remixes/mashes. This is one of my favorites of all time.
That Dave wrangler track reminded me of when the Outkast Atliens album came out and I realized that this album was in just as hard of rotation that same summer. BT was essentially an electronic god in those days and a collab w Tori Amos was a huge crossover to the mainstream. Needless to say I dug this track.

Its shaping up to be a big weekend. I am kicking things off Friday night with Happy Hour at the W hotel. Great drinks and an upscale vibe make this an ideal way to ease into the weekend.
Saturday night I am getting down with none other than Jeremy Olander over at Harlot. One of the Pryda Friends crew, this dudes dark progressive sound is something I have been waiting to get down to for a while. I will be opening it up with the homies Team No Sleep as well so its guaranteed to be good.

The weather is hot and sweaty in the city which means tons of people out in the streets, getting reckless and generally doing wierd shit. In celebration of the current heat wave I planted some vegetables in my back yard. I’m not sure how this is all going to end up but if it all works out I’m going to have a ton of salad to share with you all.

Friday night I am rocking the decks for a good cause at the Reason to Party event at Public Works. This is a party to benefit Dolores Street Community Services build the first ever LGBT homeless shelter in San Francisco. Live entertainment including aerial silk performers on two floors all night long, stunning décor, a photo booth provided by Photography for Good, liquor tasting tables, and an open bar with sponsored vodka cocktails, wine, and Sapporo beer.
