The Dictator
I didn’t watch the Oscars, but I did catch wind of this humorous red carpet happening. I love Sacha Baron Cohen and have enjoyed his work since the original Ali-G days. he comes through again with spot on character acting and pulls it off on the Oscars red carpet.
“As Sudam Hussein once told me, socks are socks” hahaha
I’m excited to see the new film.
Also check out one of my favorite clips from Season 1 of the Ali-G show.
Metronomy – The Look (Mikey V. Remix)
Los Angeles based DJ/Producer/Extrordianair, Mikey Velazquez, has produced a really well done remix of one of my favorite tracks. Mikey is an inspiration, and pretty much the definition of what it takes to make it in music these days. He manages the HAWT label A & R, hosts the weekly HAWT Music Radio podcast, organizes LA’s infamous HAWT events, produces originals and remixes, collaborates as a vocalist, drives professional Nascar, and DJ’s regularly.
Mikey puts his signature house twist on this already catchy jam which is slated to be released after Winter Music Conference.

Diplo & Don Diablo – Make You Pop
Here is another music video with some serious viral capability. While not quite as disturbing as Big Bad Wolf, this video is definitely strange. Also the track is pretty dope too so that helps.
Dear Diary…keep it movin
So over the past month almost 2 months I have been taking some time to travel around. I wont get into to much detail but if you care to know here is a little summary. My travels included Colorado, Mexico, and Brazil. I shredded the slopes in Colorado and spent some time with old friends etc. There want much snow but I made the best of it. Two of my friends broke their arms while riding the same run, at the same time. Quite the freak accident dontcha think? I returned to SF to play a new years day party with Aaron Axelson, Team No Sleep, and a few others. Fun times
After Colorado I hit up Mexico for the BPM Festival in Play Del Carmen. It was my first year attending the festival, and had a blast. Playa del Carmen is like the less touristy little sister of Cancun. Still pretty touristy though. Highlights included the SACBE jungle party, No.19 showcase, Wolf+Lamb & Soul Clap at Santanera at which Nicholas Jaar played a surprise opening set and our very own Pillow Talk killed it, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Lee Burridge, plenty of drinking, little sleep, etc. I saw a ton of familiar faces and met a bunch of awesome new people. Great festival overall. After the festival died down I retreated to Tulum to catch the Visionquest showcase and to chill out for 3 days, detox, immerse myself in the bohemian lifestyle, and soak up some rays. Tulum is rad.
I will post about brazil later.
