Everyone loves a good mixtape. Whether it be a gift from a courting lover, a CD you spent hours putting together yourself, or an offering from a favorite DJ…A fresh new mixtape can boost your spirits and ignite spontaneous fits of dancing.
Here are a couple mixtapes which I have been vibing too lately. An offering from the Bag Raiders, Russ Chimes, and SF’s very own Worthy. A little something to satiate any appetite here in order from breakfast to dinner.

I just caught the front end of these guys set at the Redbull 3style event at Ruby Skye last week. The Bag raiders always deliver a face punch full of disco goodness. This mix is actually really mellow and I like it. try it on your toast or in your morning coffee. These jamzzz are sure to delight.
Russ Chimes – Expressway Mix Pt. 4
Russ Chimes is a bad ass whose production, and skills behind the decks, have rocketed him into the mainstream. His Expressway mixtapes are an exciting tale of light and fun to heavy dancefloor killers and I have found a ton of hot tracks contained within. I recommend these jamzzz with peanut butter and bread as a great lunch snack.
Worthy – Winter Promo Mix 2012 / Alive Recordings podcast
Local heavy hitter and Dirtybird extraordinaire has come out with a great new mixtape chock full of heavy bass, dirty breaks and ghetto samples. We have come to expect nothing less from this selector and appreciate the fresh sounds which he delivers. Take special note of up and comer Sepher’s track “Apple Bottoms” which is a deep and heavy track with some ghetto samples funkin around in there. Soon to be released on Worthys own Anabatic records. I would recommend these jamzzz on dinner biscuits or as a dessert following a late meal.
Metronomy – The Look (Mikey V. Remix)
Los Angeles based DJ/Producer/Extrordianair, Mikey Velazquez, has produced a really well done remix of one of my favorite tracks. Mikey is an inspiration, and pretty much the definition of what it takes to make it in music these days. He manages the HAWT label A & R, hosts the weekly HAWT Music Radio podcast, organizes LA’s infamous HAWT events, produces originals and remixes, collaborates as a vocalist, drives professional Nascar, and DJ’s regularly.
Mikey puts his signature house twist on this already catchy jam which is slated to be released after Winter Music Conference.

Niki & the Dove x Goldroom
Lovin this remix of Niki & the Dove’s Mother Protect by Binary’s own Goldroom (Josh Legg). Niki and the Dove caught my attention back when Mylo surfaced with a remix of Gentle Roar. That jam sex-ed up my summer and now this one is hear to guide me through fall.
